I really enjoy your program and all the interesting information you have to share...keep up the good work! I heard that you look for suggestions for website of the week and I´d like to suggest my own website http://www.marbellafamilyfun.com. It´s a site for us locals as well as tourists that focus on what you can do in Marbella with children. Not sure if it´s what you are looking for, but thought I´d suggest it anyway. We also have a Spanish version called http://www.marbellaenfamilia.com . Feel free to contact me if you need any information (check out contacts on the site). Good luck!

Hi,

About to go to Spain for about 7 weeks to furnish and bed in my new place. Looking at all the options to get online. As not moving permanently, loath to sign up to telephone line and contract broadband. Looking, therefore, at pay as you go Dongles from Spanish internet and mobile suppliers.

Can anyone help? Best deal I've come across so far appears to be with Orange.es. Happy to pay 34 Euros for Dongles but the 4 Euros per day seems steep, as does the 12 Euros per week. Aware that internet is not cheap in Spain (compared to UK) but does anyone know any better deals?

Also, if buy dongle from UK (e.g. Amazon) will this work in Spain if I then subscribe to Orange.es? (logic here being if pick up dongle at fraction of 34 Euros price, then connection charges become more palatable!)

Finally, due to my UK residential situation presently, attracted to signing up to UK dongle contract (for however many months are necessary) but does anyone know of any that do fantastic usage rates if I were to use that in Spain for the several weeks there soon? Most I can see charge upwards of £10 per day which cancels out benefit and returns me to consider Orange.es's 4 Euros per day!

Sorry for all the questions! Any advice welcome!![/font]

Dear Twin Geeks,
I have Movistar Mobile Internet as I do not have a landline.
Last year from about June through until October I was picking up 3G on my internet, it was the first time in 2 years of having the card. Since then I have not been getting 3G just the odd flash of it now and then. What I would like to know is if weather or possibly atmospherics can effect the 3G signal.
I get 4 bars on GPRS but it is so slow compared to the 3G. Where I live is surrounded by mountains and is in the campo and I also wondered if it is possible that the signal could maybe bounce off of a mountain or something in the summer time.
I have read many forums on increasing 3G signal etc but nobody really seems to know if the weather or other things can effect the signal.
I recently bought an external antenna that plugs into my PCMIA card of 12 DBI but it has made no difference whatsoever. Even by driving to the mast it would seem that our netbook with inbuilt device pulls in a better signal than the laptop with the external antenna. Do you know if there is anyway to improve the signal?
I would really appreciate it if you could shed any light on this matter.
I listen to your show every week and find it very interesting and informative.
Yours Sincerely
