With no phone line you are clearly tied to using a mobile phone for your internet access. I would try popping into the Carphone Warehouse opposite El Corte Ingles in Puerto Banus and enquiring about pay-as-you-go SIM cards with Internet access. This is likely to be expensive, so it could be worth checking if a contract SIM would work out cheaper even if you only use it occassionally throughout the year.

A less obvious solution could be to see if any of your neighbours have wireless internet in their own homes. You could suggest that you pay them something each time you come down (it could even just be a couple of bottles of wine!) to use their connection. Depending on the size of your property, you are almost certain to have at least one wireless network you can "see".

Remember, though, that using an unsecured wireless network without permission is almost certainly illegal!

Hi Gerry

Try these guys: http://www.mercuryinternet.com/

They have wireless receivers that can be easily installed in your house - the only caveat is that you need a line of sight signal from one of their transmitters.

They have non-contract based options.

Another option: I just purchased a Movistar USB modem for a client.

It was 39.99€ from FNAC in La Cañada and you can top up with the following plans (approx):

1 day - 4€
1 week - 20€
1 month - 70€

Speeds are reasonable for most general use.
